The Canton Restaurant opened its doors in 1962 under the ownership and management of Charles Foon Wong, who served as a staff sergeant for the United States Army during World War II.
Originally, the restaurant was known as the New Canton, and it offered Annapolis residents and visitors a full-service dining experience, serving Chinese American cuisine at an affordable price. This family-owned restaurant was truly the first of its kind in Annapolis.
When Ben and Lisa Wong assumed ownership over the family business in 1994 they continued this tradition and welcomed each and every customer with open arms, just as a member of the family.
